During discussions between Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq and Chinese Special Envoy Yue Xiaoyong, both sides reviewed threats from militant groups operating across the border.

Concerns Over Cross-Border Militancy

In particular, the talks addressed concerns involving the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM). Consequently, both sides agreed on the need to synchronize counterterrorism efforts to protect regional stability.

China’s Mediation Role

Meanwhile, China continues to play an active diplomatic role between Islamabad and Kabul. As a result, Beijing has facilitated multiple rounds of dialogue aimed at reducing tensions and preventing further escalation.

Ongoing Pakistan–Afghanistan Tensions

Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan remain strained due to border clashes and mutual accusations over militant activity. However, diplomatic engagement through China has helped keep communication channels open.

Regional Stability Efforts

Furthermore, recent discussions reflect broader efforts to maintain regional peace and support economic connectivity projects, including the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. Therefore, both countries have emphasized continued dialogue over military escalation.
