Pakistan and China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate on advanced lithium-ion batteries, energy storage systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The landmark agreement brings together Pakistan’s Saigols Group and China’s Hebei Juhang Energy Technology Group to develop clean energy technologies.

During a celebratory event, Haroon Akhtar Khan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, hailed the partnership. He stated that a proposed battery assembly and manufacturing plant will kickstart a brand-new industrial ecosystem in Pakistan. This project combines Chinese technical expertise with Pakistan’s strategic location and entrepreneurial spirit.

Khan described the deal as a major vote of confidence in Pakistan’s industrial future and the enduring bond between the two nations. He noted that the Pakistan-China relationship has successfully adapted to changing global realities.
